Scheme:

The Scheme is designed to provide a continuous flow of trained Officers for The Boys' Brigade Movement. The Training is open to young men and women of 17 to 22 years of age serving in any age group of The Boys' Brigade. Anchor, Junior, Company, Seniors or Amicus.

The Training is provided in three stages:

1.

The New Entrant week - a full week of residential training.

2.

Supervised leadership within your own company.

3

A second week of residential training at least one year after the start of the New Entrant week.

On satisfactory completion of training cadets have completed the requirement for appointment as an officer in The Boys' Brigade.


The Award of the Leadership Certificate:

Cadets who successfully complete the King George VI Leadership Scheme will be awarded a certificate which enables them to the appointed to an officer rank in the Brigade.

The King George VI Leadership Scheme has been nationally endorsed by Community Education Validation and Endorsement (CeVe) and may be presented in support of your application should you wish to work in a similar post in another Youth Work organisation.
