A number of hikes and walks are run by The Boys' Brigade in England & Wales, which are open to any Company to take part in.
Cleveland Hike
In recent years up to 150 competitors have taken part in the 38 miles across the North Yorkshire Moors. Participants can make up Normal Teams (13-19 years old), Veteran Teams (over 20 years old) and Expedition Teams (under 13).
The Cleveland Hike is held annually (usually at the end of June)

The Waltham Walk
In recent years as many as 40 youth teams have completed the course, which was 30 miles in the Main Event, and 18 miles in both the Mini-Trek and Veterans' Course.

Chasetrek
Chasetrek is an annual Youth Challenge Walk based around Cannock Chase in Staffordshire, England. It is a team event for those aged 14+ designed to encourage the qualities of leadership, initiative and teamwork under difficult conditions. It offers a weekend challenge to teams of three to navigate an unmarked route of at least 25 miles (40 km), entirely on foot, using map and compass, walking between a number of checkpoints given by Grid References on an O.S. map. At these checkpoints the teams will be further tested by a series of unusual incidents.

There is also a one day challenge event for a limited number of teams aged 13 to 16, teams of four people.
Charnwood Hike
The 2nd Leicester Boys Brigade challenges you to our annual hike through the Charnwood Forest of approximately 14 miles. The hike is over one day, in April.

Progress through the hike is via a series of checkpoints where you will undertake a task and then be required to use a grid reference to plot your route to the next checkpoint. Halfway around the hike there is also a light refreshment stop to recharge your batteries.
Teams are made up of 3 people and can be entered into the main event for ages 11-17 years or the veterans event (18 years plus). The hike route changes every year but ultimately finishes at Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre, where a hot meal is provided.
The cost for entry into the hike is £13 per team and includes refreshments at the halfway mark and a hot meal at the finish, all teams that complete the hike will receive a Certificate and a trophy should you be the winning team!!
