Expedition and Outdoor Leadership Certificate
Who Should Attend
The Certificate is a requirement for those training or supervising expeditions. The certificate is valid for 5 years, and can be renewed by attending a renewal course.
The Brigade in England and Wales offers an Assessment Weekend for the Expedition and Outdoor Leadership Scheme. This enables candidates the opportunity to achieve either Standard or Advanced status if they successfully pass the required standard in a range of key competences. STANDARD: for those leaders training and supervising expeditions within the Brigade's Award Scheme (i.e., up to Queen's Badge or DEA Silver Award standards in low level / normal country); ADVANCED: for those leaders training and supervising expeditions to DEA Gold Award standards (i.e., in wild country)
